Summer is finally here and during it, we know many of our customers enjoy traveling for vacation. Here at The Cedar Roof Company we love to explore; cedar roofing is found on some of the worlds most beautiful resorts and homes in destinations from the Adirondacks to the tropics and we often share posts featuring some of these amazing places.
Did you know that Sugarloaf ski lodge, The Ocean House, The Magestic Yosemite Hotel and many other resorts all feature cedar roofs? It is common throughout New England, including the Hamptons, Nantucket and on Thoreau’s home at Walden pond. In British Colombia you can even see cedar growing in its native habitat. In fact, the Capilano suspension bridge passes through an old-growth cedar forest.
Of course if you are a more urban traveler you need only to look at the New York skyline to spot some amazing cedar. Closer to our offices, you can tour some of America’s Oldest homes in the City of Brotherly love or visit Independence Mall (our supplier, Waldun, specially milled the products used in its renovation) The Delaware Valley is full of cedar sites including many in the beautiful Brandywine Valley and the historic buildings of Valley Forge.
No matter where you go, you are sure to find cedar and based on the popularity of the “Doortrait.” (you can read about it here, in House Beautiful magazine or The New York Times) our marketing team is creating a hashtag for roof photography! After some deliberation, we finally settled on #CedarSelfie. Now, we don’t expect it to go viral, cedar roof homeowners are a small and select group – your cedar roof sets your home apart from 99 percent of other homes – but we believe in quality over quantity, so post your best #CedarSelfie whether it be at your home or on vacation and show us YOUR Cedar!
Whether you have a leak, need to have your cedar roof preserved or even replaced, you know “One Company Has You Covered” but we also want to hear from you in between those needs; send us your photos, leave a review, follow us on Facebook and read our Newsletter and Journal for tips on how to care for your cedar roof.
